Dear Visitors and Friends,
We at Quarry Hill are looking for some new residents for approximately three or four houses that will be empty starting this coming summer. We welcome inquiries about living here, visiting, renting on a long or short term basis, etc.
QH is located in Rochester, Vermont, in the "heart of the Green Mountains." Rochester is a quiet town of about 1500 people (check out the Wikipedia entry on both QH and Rochester for more information), and is small-town USA at its best and most beautiful. The mountains surrounding are gorgeous, and the land is right near the Green Mountain National Forest and the Long Trail, so there is plenty of room. WE have some gardening space, and some land that is open to the use of all.
The only things that we, the family and current residents, ask of new residents consist of an agreement to support the rights of children not to be spanked, neglected, or treated in a derogatory manner, no matter whether they are "your" children or not;also, we don't allow hunting or fishing on the property. Guns are not allowed either, for safety reasons. They must be left elsewhere or turned over to my husband, Brion, the manager, and will be returned on leaving.
Nonviolence is a core value at QH, and we hope to meet people who feel the same way and who wish to live in a beautiful, peaceful place in Vermont, for an extremely reasonable rent or (if you buy a house) site fee. There's a community-use building for parties and gatherings, also people rent rooms and live in the large building.
