It's very exciting, because a group of young people are coming home to live in one of the larger houses! We are very happy that some of the younger people (generally 30s) who grew up here are going to be in a house at QH and bring friends with them, we hope.
At Quarry Hill we have always believed that everything revolves around the young and youthful energy. Not that older people (like myself) don't have their own value and thought and energy but that it is the young who galvanize, who give life through having children and parties and fun. I can't wait to see how much we are going to enjoy having more and younger people on the place.
I am looking forward to the intelligent youth who grew up here living with us again. Sure that it will be beneficial to the place and the place will be beneficial to the younger folks. It really boils down to this-- they love Quarry Hill because it was, and is, a magical place. The magic is in the people who live in it and create it new each day, each year, each decade. Whatever age we are, we can all do that (and not only for QH, but for the place we may happen to live). A positive but not dotty attitude, joyous appreciation of all that's good, and a fostering of change, but not destruction, can make a huge difference.
