Welcome to Quarry Hill's Blog!

Quarry Hill Creative Center in Rochester, VT, founded 1946 by Barbara and Irving Fiske, is Vermont's oldest alternative community and at one time was probably also its largest. In the 60s -80s, as many as 90 people lived here.
It was and is visited each year, often in summer (but in every season, really) by visitors from all over the world.
We welcome interesting and creative people who are peaceful, bring no weapons, don't believe in hitting children or killing animals, and enjoy the beauty of Vermont and of themselves.

Most of us do not adhere to any particular dogma or religion, though many do find Eastern philosophy closest to our own thought (some of us are also members of the Quakers/Society of Friends).
We value the individual, particularly people who are energetic and have a sense of humor.
Visitors are welcome-- and prospective residents, too. There are some places for rent, others for sale. If interested, get in touch!
And, please follow the Blog and comment whenever you like!

"The symbol is the enemy of the reality, and the reality is ever one's true guide, true friend, true companion, and true self." Irving Fiske, 1908-1990

House night!

A most entertaining episode of HOUSE,MD. Yet I still miss L.Edelstein (as do the writers and actors; inone scene House grabs FOREMAN'S butt as he often did Cuddy's, akind of sad insider joke? SNtill, he doesn't seem ,to miss her too much, overtly.. He & Wilson never talk about henr departure, at least on screen. Odette Annable is gorgeous, but can she take up the space Cuddy (and Cameron and 13) took? And Psrk (Charlene Yi> is entertaining but... Where is the possibility of some greater inner development for House? For possible love? Have the writers and David Shore Et ka really given up on a final fulfillment, for House, or is it to be with him as with Holmes, t,he equivalent of bee keeping (alone) on the Sussex downs? I enjoyed the story though and was glad House could get $$$ to put his department back together, of course no explanation of Cuddy's ability to keep he hospital in the black while Foreman cannot. Wilson and House do not seem to talk as much as they did and Wilson seems less humorous and involved? Is RSL "phoning it in?" or are there changes planned before the season ends that will reveal more to our longing eyes? House says "Spoilers ruin everything." So we will have to see how it goes. Next week Chase returns (interest in Annable's character)? Also Taub. Well, I I'm just glad HOUSE is still on the air. HL is a great actor and it's fun. I hope HOUSE can interact with Cuddy once before the show ends. She could make a guest appearance... I hope!

  1. Well, not a bad night of House... But I wish they'd make it a LITTLE more connected to all that has gone before in Seasons 1 to 7....
